“The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many warriors with you. If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength.” Judges 7:2 NLT

Too many. Once Gideon accepted the calling of God, He gathered the Israelites for war. The Lord said, Gideon there are too many warriors for the battle. If you win with the masses you will boast in yourselves of your own strength. Oftentimes, we believe we need a large showing for the work of God. God says, it’s not about our numbers but God’s power and ability. God wants the faith of the few not the strength of many. Just as God reduced Gideon’s army down from 32,000 to 300, He’s pruning the flock. God says, My victory shall be won with the remnant. Through the remnant shall My Name be glorified. We only need faith the size of a mustard seed. We don’t need multitudes standing, just the remnant. God’s preparing a great victory, with the remnant . . . He turned a city upside down with one woman at a Well. We must never think, God cannot use the few to make a great impact . . . The stage is set, the battle cry sounds, God says, remnant take position .
