“So Samuel took a young lamb and offered it to the Lord as a whole burnt offering. He pleaded with the Lord to help Israel, and the Lord answered him. Just as Samuel was sacrificing the burnt offering, the Philistines arrived to attack Israel. But the Lord spoke with a mighty voice of thunder from heaven that day, and the Philistines were thrown into such confusion that the Israelites defeated them.” 1 Samuel 7:9-10 (NLT)

The lamb was sacrificed. Samuel offered the lamb as a sacrifice for Israel. He pleaded/interceded with the Lord for their victory and the Lord answered. The Philistines arrived to attack but the Lord thundered from heaven. Confusion overshadowed the Philistines yielding their defeat. In the process of intercession, God granted their victory. Jesus is the Lamb that takes away our sins and gives us victory over the enemy. Our Chief Intercessor, sacrificed His life, and paid the price for our sins. The enemy may plan to defeat, but God’s purpose prevails. The enemy may gather in forces to defeat but the roar of God confuses him every time. The enemy thought God would not answer because he knew their sin. What the enemy failed to realize, repentance yields deliverance and deliverance yields to his defeat every time. As Intercessors, we cannot judge the sins of man and miss intercession. Samuel saw their heart and interceded on their behalf. Intercessors see the Lamb, know the power of the blood and stand in the gap. We build up the hedge until the Lord/Lion roars granting victory! What the enemy meant for evil, destruction, defeat and death, God turns around for our good! The very place where death seems imminent is a place of great victory. Samuels we must pray/intercede until the victory is won.
