“One day Zechariah was serving God in the Temple, for his order was on duty that week. As was the custom of the priests, he was chosen by lot to enter the sanctuary of the Lord and burn incense. While the incense was being burned, a great crowd stood outside, praying.” Luke 1:8-10 NLT

Serving God. Zechariah was faithful in his service unto God and the people he served. Irregardless of how, he was chosen to enter into the sanctuary and burn incense. The priest stood in the presence of God on behalf of the people. Zechariah was faithful to pray, worship and burn incense. In his service, God moved on his behalf. Zechariah stood in his service, between Elizabeth’s barren womb and the birth of John. He carried the prayers of the saints before God and walked away, dad to the fore runner of Jesus. When we are faithful to God’s assignment, we are blessed. Zechariah was not praying about his desires. His willingness to serve placed him in the favor of God. Intercession is not a list/cry of our personal petitions. When we press pass our own emptiness, pain and situations life in Christ is inevitable. God will never allow us to out give Him. There is a blessing in the press. No doubt, many of us have prayed for someone else’s situation and we ourselves were blessed. Rise Intercessors, cry loud and spare not . . . God honors faithfulness. It’s time to offer a sweet smelling savor of prayer in the nostrils of the Lord. God hears, He answers and gives the increase.
