“Aaron did as Moses told him and ran out among the people. The plague had already begun to strike down the people, but Aaron burned the incense and purified the people. He stood between the dead and the living, and the plague stopped.” Numbers 16:47-48 NLT

Between the living and the dead. The people were dying from a plague. Moses didn’t stop to judge or question the people. Moses instructed Aaron to take the coals from the altar and burn the incense. Aaron followed the instructions from Moses. He stood between the living and the dead to purify the people. Immediately the plague stopped and the people were saved, delivered from death. Today, Intercessors are mandated to stand between the living and the dead. Mandated to cry loud and spare not the word of the Lord. God is calling for the prayers of the saints. Calling us to pray according to the word of God that souls be saved and set free from destruction. Moses did not command Aaron, the priest to pray for his family and friends. He said, quickly stand between the living and the dead for the saving of souls. The heart of pastor Moses was filled with compassion for those who were dying. The heart of the hireling, says save your own – Me, my four and no more. Can we hear the voice of the Lord, calling us to pray, stand in the gap and build up the hedge? Quick, we must arise and man our post. Someone’s on the other side, seeking a savior . . . seeking to be delivered from the plague . . . seeking a place of refuge . . . Is depending on our prayers. Intercessors, the assignment is Prayer!!!
