“Then David’s question was reported to King Saul, and the king sent for him. “Don’t worry about this Philistine,” David told Saul. “I’ll go fight him!” “Don’t be ridiculous!” Saul replied. “There’s no way you can fight this Philistine and possibly win! You’re only a boy, and he’s been a man of war since his youth.” 1 Samuel 17:31-33, NLT

The taunts of Goliath reached the ear of David. David inquired about the reward. His questions noised abroad to the degree, it got the king’s attention. Saul sent for him immediately. David responded, don’t worry, I’ll fight him. Saul looking with his natural eye could only see a boy. A boy proclaiming victory over a giant, a warrior, a champion. However, David stood persistently in the spirit realm. Refusing to accept defeat or stand around idol, he confessed victory. Goliath may be roaring with threats, accusations and mocking the body of Christ. He may seem huge, his rants may be frightening, situations may seem impossible but our God is greater. David fixed his eyes on God. David knew who he was, the power within and the God he served. David confidently called to remembrance the victories won. He trusted in the God who delivered the lion and the bear into his hands. What’s impossible with man is possible with God. Saul called David’s faith ridiculous. God takes the foolish things to confound the wise. Goliath may stack up against us, naturally, but the greater One resides on the inside of us! Though the weapons form, they will not prosper!! We must hold fast to the power of God, stand in the confidence of His word, and fix our eyes on the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus. Though Goliath rants, he is defeated.
