“God answered, “I will be with you. And this is your sign that I am the one who has sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God at this very mountain.” But Moses protested, “If I go to the people of Israel and tell them, ‘The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?” Exodus 3:12-13 NLT

I will be with you! God did not give Moses an assignment and say figure it out. He simply said, I will be with you. He said, as a sign you will worship me at this very mountain. Don’t just bring them out and send them off; don’t bring them out and turn them loose. Once you set them free, don’t leave them to their own devices. Lead them to this very mountain. Lead them to the place you were delivered and connected with Me. Bring them out and up to a place of freedom in Me. Being free in God, is not a license to do what you want but free to worship Me. Bring them out of the valley of despair into My holy mountain. Lead them to a place of fellowship and relationship with Me. Moses could not bring/lead them to where he had not been. In other words, Moses had to meet God and worship God first. And yet, he still grappled with excuses. Oftentimes, we are so concerned about the response of people, we struggle with the call. Moses was the answer to the prayers of their ancestors and yet he struggled. God said, I will be with you, just bring them to Me. We don’t have to fix them, make them whole or be their God. God says, look not at their face but follow My instructions. We need only to lead them to God; put them in position to hear Me. In the presence of a holy God there is deliverance.
